Faustinos opened in Franklin Plaza in 2023 as a venture by Asael Faustino, his wife Sky and his brothers Jose and David, according to contemporaneous local reporting. The Franklin Avenue restaurant builds its appeal around choice: straightforward meat tacos share a menu with cactus, seafood and cheese-rich combinations. The result suits a table whose diners want different things, rather than a single-recipe specialist.

How to build an order

The street-style tacos arrive with onion and cilantro, baby potatoes and lime. Asada, tinga de pollo and pastor provide three distinct starting points; the pastor is described as marinated pork with pineapple. The Nopal Mexicano combines grilled cactus, tomato, queso fresco and avocado, while the shrimp taco adds mango pico. Because the cactus taco includes cheese, it should not be described as vegan without a requested modification and a discussion with the kitchen.

Birria appears as a taco, a quesabirria and a larger pizza-style preparation with refried beans, onion and cilantro, accompanied by consommé.
