About El Super Burrito & Lupita's Bakery
Start with the tacos, leave room for the bakery
El Super Burrito & Lupita's has served Cedar Rapids since 2004. Its name points toward a large meal, but an individual taco is a useful entry to the kitchen: corn tortilla, onion, cilantro and a filling selected from a longer list than steak and chicken. Papas con chorizo brings potato and sausage together; alambre combines steak, bacon, peppers, onion and cheese. A three-taco platter adds rice and beans for a more complete lunch.
The house burritos have distinct personalities
The Burrito Ahogado covers a filled burrito with green salsa and adds guacamole, sour cream, cheese and lettuce on a hot plate. The Bombero takes a different path, using a red sauce over meat, peppers and onions. These are knife-and-fork meals rather than dry wraps intended for eating on the move. Smaller ahogado portions and meatless versions keep the choice from being all or nothing.
The bakery is a separate attraction within the same business. Conchas, pan dulce, filled pastries, churros and tres leches appear on the menu. Someone collecting a taco order can also bring home breakfast or dessert without making another stop. Tamale fillings depend on the day; orders of a dozen or more require an advance call.
Ordering and catering contacts
The restaurant is at 3300 Johnson Avenue NW. Call 319-366-1181 for restaurant enquiries. Catering has its own published contact, Berta, at 319-550-4822. The ordering site lists both carryout and delivery, Monday–Saturday 11 a.m.–8:30 p.m.; the dining-room schedule extends to 9 p.m. Sunday is closed. The catering mobile should not be mistaken for a dedicated everyday delivery line.
