Veeno
Italian wine bars and restaurants with Sicilian wines, sharing boards, tastings, and British and Wrocław locations.
About Veeno
Veeno develops the Italian aperitivo tradition through wine bars and restaurants where bottles are paired with sharing boards and Italian dishes. The project’s history begins with its first wine bar opening in 2013. The connection to Caruso & Minini, the Sicilian family vineyard presented by the brand, links its wine selection with varieties including Nero d’Avola, Grillo, and Zibibbo.
The menu brings together Italian cheeses and cured meats, bruschetta, pasta, pizza or pinsa, and panini, with differences between locations. Durham, for example, lists carbonara with pancetta, egg, and Parmigiano, and a ragù cooked with the family’s Nero d’Avola. Northallerton announces Roman-style pinsa and carbonara with guanciale and pecorino. That variation matters to diners: the identity is shared, but individual menus retain their own dishes and ingredients.
Tasting experiences provide other ways to spend time at the table. Quattro Vini combines four red or white wines with a sharing board; Trip to Sicily pairs Sicilian wines and spuntini with a sweet tiramisu finish. Step Into Our Cellar offers six wines with food, while Italian Afternoon Tea adapts the British format to Italian bites. Experiences have reservations and gift vouchers alongside normal table service.
Published British addresses are Durham: Unit 12 The Gates, The Riverwalk, DH1 4SL; Edinburgh: 76 Rose Street, EH2 2NN; Leeds: 5 Wellington Place, LS1 4AP; and Leicester: 9 St Martins, LE1 5DE. The locations connect wine with different urban settings, from Durham’s Riverwalk to central Edinburgh and Leicester. Each branch maintains its own menu, hours, and contact details.
Northallerton adds an opening announced for October 15, 2026, at Unit 7, Treadmills Leisure Scheme, East Road, DL6 1AU. It is a scheduled addition, rather than a location presented as open before that date. Outside the United Kingdom, Veeno Wrocław is at Ruska 5, 50-079 Wrocław, Poland, with its own Italian food and wine menu.
Durham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, and Northallerton advertise wheelchair access, an accessible restroom, and dog-friendly policies. Edinburgh also specifies that it welcomes children age five and older. Conditions are not automatically transferred from one branch to another. Private events, group gatherings, Casa Veeno, and online wine sales extend a project offering choices among a meal, a tasting, or a shared bottle with dishes from the menu.
