Pepe Vieira: Galician avant-garde cuisine in Raxó, Poio

Pepe Vieira is a restaurant located in the upper area of Raxó, in the municipality of Poio (Pontevedra), overlooking the Rías Baixas. Its proposal is defined as "A última cociña do mundo", a Galician avant-garde cuisine that has been recognized with two Michelin stars.

Mythologically inspired menus

The restaurant offers three tasting menus: «Romasanta», «O Señor de Andrade» and «A Santa Elección». Each one proposes a gastronomic journey through Galician history and mythology with an avant-garde vision. The cuisine adapts the menu only for guests with coeliac disease or lactose intolerance and for pregnant guests.

A multidisciplinary project

«A última cociña do mundo» is presented as a project that transcends the gastronomic and in which cooks, winemakers, anthropologists, artists, designers and philologists collaborate. The stated objective is to deepen the Galician cultural heritage and recover the past looking to the future. The restaurant is open to new collaborations and visions that enrich this initiative.

The restaurant occupies a modern building in A Serpe, Raxó, and is described as a magical space to experience a different gastronomic experience. Its location, in the upper area of Raxó – the smallest parish in the municipality of Poio – makes the journey to the restaurant part of the experience.
