MASSGrant Plus and MASSGrant Plus Expansion are separate state components that may be combined with federal and campus aid. The Plus route can help with tuition and fees at public institutions; Expansion serves eligible private institutions. “Plus” does not mean every student or bill is fully covered, and OSFA updates rules and award amounts by cycle.
For Plus, the state describes a household-income band up to approximately $85,000, with a minimum six-credit enrollment; the $85,000–$100,000 band generally requires full-time study at 12 credits. Massachusetts residency—usually one year, with specific pathways for some groups—undergraduate enrollment, and no completed bachelor’s degree are among the rules. FAFSA or MASFA depends on the student’s circumstances.
OSFA says some students may receive up to $1,200 for books, subject to eligibility and calculation. Do not include housing or meals as grant coverage. The final offer depends on tuition, other aid, enrollment intensity, and campus rules. Ask whether your program and credits qualify, and request a separate explanation of MASSGrant Plus and Plus Expansion.
The published 2026–27 state priority date was June 30, 2026. MASFA may remain available through June 30, 2027, but an open application is not a guarantee of funding or state priority. Check late-file status with OSFA and your campus. The MASSGrant Plus profile and OSFA profile link to rules and dates.
Before budgeting, request a written offer separating tuition, mandatory fees, housing, meals, books, and transportation. State grants often reduce only eligible charges and may change after Pell or other scholarships are applied. Do not commit money based on a chart maximum.
Your campus office should confirm missing documents, institutional eligibility, and disbursement timing. The program profile expands on the criteria; the public-agency profile links to applications, deadlines, and official help.

Research checked on October 12, 2026 against official or institutional sources. Past deadlines are identified, and eligibility is distinguished from an actual award. Confirm the cycle, your file, and available funds with the agency and your college financial-aid office.
Confirm which component is evaluating you and what bill remains; an open date is not a guarantee of priority or an award.
