Colorado Student Grant (CSG) is state aid distributed through participating colleges and universities. Rather than one uniform statewide award chart, institutions receive allocations and administer priorities, eligibility, and payments under state rules and available funding. Students should begin with their campus financial-aid office.
Colorado residency and financial need are common considerations, but one university’s example should not be treated as a rule for the entire state. CU Boulder publishes a 2026–27 example for its own resident undergraduates: SAI up to 9,000 and at least six credits, subject to limited funding. Another campus may use different criteria, dates, or award levels.
State aid often supplements Pell and other grants; do not assume it will pay the full cost of attendance. Ask which charges the allocation can cover, how need is calculated, whether funds remain, how part-time enrollment is treated, and which documents the campus requires. Students unable to file FAFSA may use Colorado’s CASFA to be considered for some eligible state and institutional aid.
The state does not publish one date that settles every campus and cycle. Complete FAFSA or CASFA early and obtain your institution’s written priority date for 2026–27 or 2027–28. The Colorado Student Grant profile and CDHE profile explain the model and link to official information.
Before budgeting, request a written offer separating tuition, mandatory fees, housing, meals, books, and transportation. State grants often reduce only eligible charges and may change after Pell or other scholarships are applied. Do not commit money based on a chart maximum.
Your campus office should confirm missing documents, institutional eligibility, and disbursement timing. The program profile expands on the criteria; the public-agency profile links to applications, deadlines, and official help.

Research checked on October 12, 2026 against official or institutional sources. Past deadlines are identified, and eligibility is distinguished from an actual award. Confirm the cycle, your file, and available funds with the agency and your college financial-aid office.
In Colorado, ask your campus: state allocations do not guarantee a uniform award, and criteria can be institution-specific.
