About Consular Section, Embassy of Japan in Norway

The Embassy of Japan’s Consular Section is the nationwide point of contact for Japanese nationals living in Norway. Its work combines personal and family documents with residence registration, certificates, overseas voting and guidance in urgent situations. Each procedure has its own file, and some certificates are issued only for specific uses in Japan or Norway.

Most visits are booked through the consular appointment portal; police certificates and Working Holiday applications are arranged by telephone or email. The office is at Haakon VIIs gate 9 and lists weekday counter hours of 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:30–4:00 p.m. The passport page warns that many applications take more than four weeks and that passports must be collected in person—important details for people travelling from outside Oslo.

The public information we found did not let us verify a Google Maps listing and review count unambiguously tied to this office. We therefore do not attribute a score or borrow comments from another location. Before travelling, identify the exact procedure and confirm which documents, originals and payment method are required.
