About Consular / Visa Section, Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands

The Embassy’s Consular / Visa Section is in The Hague. Japan’s honorary consulates in Amsterdam and Rotterdam do not issue passports, visas or certificates, according to the Embassy itself.

The Hague post handles passports, certificates, family and nationality matters, residence registration, overseas voting, My Number, safety information and visas. Visa application and collection hours are separate; police certificates are the exception that requires an appointment.

Outreach sessions take place in Dutch cities on changing dates and with limited procedure lists. Some applications can be accepted there, but not every procedure or necessarily the final collection.

The address is Tobias Asserlaan 5, 2517 KC The Hague. The phone is +31 70 346 9544 and the consular email is consul@hg.mofa.go.jp. Rokuichiro Michii is named as Ambassador on the current institutional page.
