About CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA

In the port district of Shinko, where former brick warehouses meet the Minato Mirai waterfront, the CUPNOODLES MUSEUM turns an everyday food into a story of invention. The exhibits follow Momofuku Ando and the development of instant ramen through objects, scenes and interactive displays. The appeal lies in understanding how the product was designed and popularised, then making a cup of your own. For families and food-curious visitors, the My CUPNOODLES Factory activity is often the highlight, but it requires a time slot and costs extra.

General admission is ¥500 for adults. The museum is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with last admission at 5:00 pm; it normally closes on Tuesdays, shifting the closure to the following day when Tuesday is a national holiday. The Chicken Ramen workshop and other activities have separate terms and limited capacity, so do not assume a place will be available when you arrive. Visitors often praise the hands-on creativity and easy-to-follow exhibits; others mention queues, noise in family areas or disappointment when popular sessions are already full.

The address is 2-3-4 Shinko, around an eight-minute walk from Minatomirai or Bashamichi stations and roughly twelve minutes from Sakuragicho, according to the museum. Noodles Bazaar adds a food component: it is a dining area serving small portions of noodles from several countries, not a free tasting. The visit works best when you allow time for the galleries and a booked activity rather than treating it as a quick stop. On weekends, choose an activity time in advance.

For a rainy-day itinerary, pair it with the Yokohama Museum of Art. The walk between them takes around twenty minutes through Minato Mirai, or you can shorten the transfer by using the Minatomirai Line and walking from a station. Check closing days before setting out: the CUPNOODLES MUSEUM normally closes on Tuesdays, while the art museum closes on Thursdays. On a day when both are open, the pair makes a full indoor route through design, industry, popular culture and art.
