About Enoteca La Sosta del Rossellino

A Tuscan Wine Bar and Restaurant in the Hills of Settignano, Florence

Enoteca La Sosta del Rossellino began in 1990 as a small specialty food shop in the village of Settignano, opened by Damiano Miniera and his daughter Silvia. What started as a shop selling cured meats, cheeses, and fresh bread gradually became a wine bar and then a restaurant, preserving Tuscan traditions while incorporating Sicilian influences and touches of French elegance.

From Shop to Restaurant: More Than Three Decades

The business began in 1990 with the opening of a specialty food shop in Settignano. A passion for wine and cooking transformed the shop into a lively wine bar and later a restaurant in the hills overlooking Florence. The business has remained family-run from the beginning, with Silvia Miniera listed as the data controller for Enoteca La Sosta del Rossellino srl.

Food and Wine

The menu combines dishes that have been part of the wine bar since its early days and are considered house specialties with newer creations and offerings for special occasions or the changing seasons. The online menu is updated regularly. The main business is a wine bar and restaurant serving food and drinks.

Events and Experiences

The restaurant regularly hosts events beyond its usual service, including tasting evenings, meetings with producers, small exhibitions, and gatherings with music. The goal is for guests to experience the restaurant as more than just a place to eat. Recurring events include Colazione Offline, held once a month on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon; dates are announced on Instagram. In summer 2026, the restaurant hosted STUDIO APERTO MAG for a television feature.

versovino, the Single-Glass Decanter by Damiano Miniera

In 2004, Damiano Miniera created versovino, presented as the “little decanter.” This single-glass decanter is designed to let wine meet oxygen in one simple motion, bringing out its aromas in just the right amount. It can be purchased at the wine bar or through the restaurant’s online shop. The website versovino.com explains the story and details of the product.

Gift Certificates

The business offers gift certificates for lunch or dinner for two, or multiples of two, including wine, water, and coffee. Gift certificates are available online.
