About Tantris Maison Culinaire
Tantris Maison Culinaire: Fine Dining in Munich Since 1971
Tantris Maison Culinaire is a Munich dining destination bringing together three distinct spaces under one roof: fine-dining restaurant Tantris, the à la carte restaurant Tantris DNA, and Bar Tantris. The company presents itself as a house built around craft, elevated cooking, and genuine hospitality. It traces its origins to 1971, saying it has influenced Germany’s culinary scene ever since. After a careful renovation of the building, the company continues its story as Tantris Maison Culinaire.
Three Spaces Under One Roof
The business is organized around three complementary concepts. Tantris serves a set menu, while Tantris DNA is described as an à la carte restaurant. Bar Tantris rounds out the offering with later hours. All three share the atmosphere of a distinctive space and a common philosophy centered on the pleasure of dining.
Recognition and Standing
The website references the Michelin Guide and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in connection with its restaurants. The company describes itself as “Deutschlands Top-Adresse für Gourmetküche,” or Germany’s leading address for gourmet cuisine.
Menus and the Dining Experience
The restaurant offers several menu options. Menu Jeune is for guests under 35 and applies to the entire table and the Tantris Maison Culinaire experience; reservations for this option are made online only. It has lunch and dinner versions:
- Menu Jeune lunch: A four-course menu with an aperitif, wine pairing, and coffee, listed at €150 per person.
- Menu Jeune dinner: A five-course menu with an aperitif, wine pairing, and coffee, listed at €225 per person.
Tantris also offers a special Saturday lunch menu, described as a long-standing classic, with four courses and a wine pairing selected by the sommelier team for €225; wine refills are included. The full wine list and the five-course signature menu are also available Saturday at lunch. The company says it does not offer vegan cuisine.
Reservations, Policies, and Cancellations
Reservations can be made online or through the reservations office. For dates further in the future or parties of more than six, the company asks guests to contact it by email or phone. Guests should communicate allergies or vegetarian requests at least 48 hours ahead. For Menu Jeune, vegetarian or pescatarian requests and allergies must be shared when booking; the company says it cannot accommodate requests made at short notice or only after arrival.
Cancellation terms vary by menu. For Menu Jeune, cancellations or reductions must be made at least 24 hours in advance; later cancellations incur a charge of €100 per person for lunch and €200 per person for dinner. For parties of five or six, the notice period increases to 48 hours. Every cancellation or reduction is reconfirmed by email. A limited number of Menu Jeune reservations open two months in advance for certain services—Wednesday through Friday lunch and Wednesday and Thursday dinner—with possible last-minute additions depending on occupancy. Saturday lunch and Friday and Saturday dinners are released only occasionally and close to the date.
Hours and Seasonal Closure
Tantris and Tantris DNA are open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. Bar Tantris is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The property is closed Sunday through Tuesday and opens on holidays. The website listed a seasonal closure from July 22 through August 5, 2026, inclusive. In August, guests are welcomed on the outdoor terrace and in the air-conditioned dining rooms.
Dress Code and Guest Communications
The company requests elegant attire appropriate to the occasion and asks guests to avoid casual sportswear; specifically, it asks men not to wear shorts or open-toed shoes. It publishes a digital mailing list, Tantris Amis, for friends of the restaurant, and offers an online shop, gift card sales and information, and a frequently asked questions section.
