About Le Pré Catelan

Le Pré Catelan: Fine Dining and Events in the Bois de Boulogne

Le Pré Catelan is a destination in the Bois de Boulogne, just outside Paris, bringing together four distinct offerings under one name: a fine-dining restaurant, a bistro, event rooms, and a garden-facing lounge. The property presents itself as a landmark for celebrations and receptions, with services ranging from everyday dining to private and corporate events.

Frédéric Anton’s Fine-Dining Restaurant

Chef Frédéric Anton has led the fine-dining restaurant since 1997 and is considered one of the leading figures in contemporary French cooking. His food is described as refined and approachable, designed to bring out the essence of each ingredient. The restaurant has three Michelin stars.

Architect Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the interior, creating a contemporary setting that respects the building’s heritage and frames the chef’s cooking. Guests can reserve a table or purchase gift boxes for the fine-dining restaurant.

La Ferme du Pré, the Bistro

La Ferme du Pré is the bistro concept from the same chef. Its cooking is described as sincere and generous, centered on local products that change with the seasons. The property presents it as a lively place to enjoy straightforward cooking reimagined with Frédéric Anton’s signature in a bucolic setting.

Event Rooms and Spaces

Maison Lenôtre manages the event rooms at Le Pré Catelan, which include thirteen spaces. They accommodate private and business receptions, including seminars and meetings, lunches and dinners, weddings, receptions, and custom events. Clos du Pré is a garden-facing room, also managed by Maison Lenôtre.

For event dining, Lenôtre’s creative director, Guy Krenzer, develops the menus for guests. The website allows visitors to request an event proposal and describes the venue as well suited to garden parties in warmer weather.

History and Commitments

Le Pré Catelan has more than a century of history. It began as a royal hunting lodge and later became a restaurant during the Belle Époque. From 1976, it became a fixture of Parisian life under Colette and Gaston Lenôtre.

The property says it aims to create new connections between city residents and nature by reimagining its buildings and landscape in collaboration with an ecologist and botanist.

Current and Seasonal Offerings

The website features seasonal updates, including an autumn-winter 2025–2026 collection inspired by the forest understory, a holiday menu in the event rooms, and a summer offering for experiencing Paris in a different way. It also has a careers section for people interested in joining the team.
