About Les Prés d'Eugénie

Les Prés d'Eugénie, a Palace Hotel in the Heart of Landes

Les Prés d'Eugénie is a five-star hotel with France’s Palace designation in Eugénie-les-Bains, in the Landes department of southwestern France. It has been part of Relais & Châteaux since 1968 and received the Palace distinction in 2017. Christine and Michel Guérard founded the property in 1974; it is now managed by Adeline and Eléonore, continuing the family’s story.

The eight-hectare estate includes five historic buildings, seven gardens—among them kitchen gardens, rose gardens, water gardens, and boxwood gardens—a lounge bar, and a thermal spa. The property has 45 bright rooms and suites, with terraces and balconies overlooking the gardens. Breakfast is served in the rooms.

Restaurants and Dining

The estate has three restaurants and a culinary café. The Michelin-starred restaurant Michel Guérard has held three Michelin stars since 1977, has five Gault & Millau toques, and belongs to Les Grandes Tables du Monde. L'Orangerie, known for its refined, contemporary cooking, earned a Michelin star in 2025. La Ferme aux Grives, a historic country inn, has two Michelin forks and three Gault & Millau toques. The offering also includes La Beach House d'Huchet and a gourmet shop.

Eléonore and Adeline oversee the property’s artistic direction, while chef Hugo Souchet leads the kitchen and carries forward Michel Guérard’s legacy. The estate’s cooking school offers classes, including sessions scheduled for October and November focused on autumn flavors and ingredients such as seafood and chocolate.

Thermal Spa and Wellness

La Ferme Thermale d'Eugénie offers treatments in collaboration with Sisley. The spa draws on the area’s ancient thermal springs. The estate also has a swimming pool, sports facilities, and relaxation areas, and hosts wellness and health retreats. For guests traveling with children, the property presents itself as a family resort with activities for younger visitors.

Additional Lodging and Services

In addition to the main hotel, the group operates La Maison Rose, a welcoming, lifestyle-oriented three-star hotel, and Château de Bachen, which hosts events such as the Foire aux Vins. The estate has electric-vehicle charging stations for Porsche and Tesla vehicles. Its sustainability efforts include promoting train travel, and it has received recognition for responsible tourism.
