Its district covers Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. General weekday hours are 9:00 a.m.–noon and 1:30–5:00 p.m.; visas: applications 9:00–11:00 a.m. and collection 1:30–4:30 p.m., subject to holidays and notices.

The Consulate separates consular matters from administrative, cultural, economic, political and community-project work. It also advertises itinerant service outside Curitiba, with an individual announcement and service menu for each session.

Published services include in-person and online passports; visas by category; certificates and civil records; nationality; Japan entry and fee information; MEXT scholarships and cultural information. Proxy visa submission depends on the procedure and may not remove the need for an interview.
