About Consular Section, Embassy of Japan in Belgium

The Brussels Consular Section handles passports, certificates, registrations, services for Japanese nationals and visa applications. The Embassy also provides safety and travel advice, quarantine information and driving-related guidance.

Applications and declarations require online booking: a booking number must appear and a confirmation email must arrive. Visas are collected in the afternoon without an appointment. The Embassy names Takeshi Osuga as Ambassador; its page does not name the counter’s consular chief.

The office is at Rue Van Maerlant / Van Maerlantstraat 1. Counter service runs in two weekday windows; visitors pass a baggage check, must bring applicable Belgian identification and cannot use visitor parking.

Access depends on the task: a late appointment without notice may be cancelled, while some collections do not require booking. Read the procedure-specific instructions before travelling.
