Provenance is a restaurant with boutique accommodation located in Beechworth, in northeastern Victoria (Australia). The establishment opened in 2009 and is owned by the married couple Michael Ryan and Jeanette Henderson, who previously ran the restaurant Range in Myrtleford since 2005.

The venue's track record includes two hats in the Good Food Guide for the past nine years and the number 30 spot on the Gourmet Traveller Top 100 Australian Restaurants list. Michael Ryan was named Chef of the Year by the Age Good Food Guide in 2013.

Background of the owners

Jeanette Henderson brings experience in wine retail, developed alongside Philip Rich and Matt Skinner at Prince Wine Store, and holds a qualification as a winemaker. Michael Ryan comes from a scientific background, a less common foundation in the restaurant industry.

Before moving to Beechworth, the couple earned two hats and the Country Restaurant of the Year recognition in the Age Good Food Guide with their previous project, Range, which they ran for three years.
