Pima Community College’s 29th Street Coalition Center is at 4355 East Calle Aurora, southeast of downtown Tucson. It is one of three locations listed for Adult Basic Education for College & Career (ABECC), alongside Desert Vista and Downtown. For an adult who wants to strengthen reading, writing, mathematics or English before enrolling in credit courses, the program begins closer to everyday needs and does not charge tuition for these classes.
ABECC offers free English and core-skills instruction, high-school equivalency preparation and testing, integrated education and training, and citizenship classes. Course placement, dates and locations change with the current schedule, so call the ABECC office at 520-206-7330 before travelling. The center also appears in Pima’s public-safety program listings: the Fire Science Academy Track is a full-time, one-year in-person certificate path; the Fire Science AAS is listed as two years full-time in a hybrid format; and the Paramedic AAS is a two-year full-time hybrid program. These career credentials have their own admissions and course requirements.
The site therefore serves two different starts: adult basic education that is free and noncredit, and selective technical or degree study in emergency services. Students considering EMT, paramedic or fire-service work should confirm which instruction meets at 29th Street during their term and what prerequisite, physical or cohort requirements apply. The location page supplies a direct map; Pima’s transportation page says parking is free and Sun Tran routes serve the college’s campuses. Check the class schedule and building before setting out.
Una sede práctica para inglés gratuito, preparación para equivalencia de secundaria y formación en emergencias.
