Computer Concepts: Authorized Apple Sales & Service in Hampton Roads

Computer Concepts is a company founded in 2003 that began by offering its own custom-built computers to home users. Over time, the demand for technical assistance and training led the company to expand its activity until it became a comprehensive provider of computer sales and repair. It currently operates two stores on the Virginia Peninsula, in Williamsburg and Yorktown, and presents itself as the only locally owned authorized Apple sales and service center in the Hampton Roads region.

Authorized Apple Technical Service

The company has Apple-trained technicians who use manufacturer-approved tools and diagnostics and genuine parts. According to its presentation, all repairs are certified and backed by Apple, and the technicians are authorized to perform warranty services on devices with AppleCare or AppleCare+ coverage. No appointment is necessary to visit the stores.

PC, Laptop and Video Game Console Repair

In addition to Apple service, Computer Concepts repairs Windows desktop computers, laptops and tablets. Work can be done in-store, at the customer's location or remotely. The company also repairs and optimizes video game consoles, and offers the possibility of building custom gaming computers. It also sells custom desktop computers with a limited three-year hardware warranty.

Sales of Apple, Lenovo and Refurbished Equipment

Computer Concepts is an authorized reseller of all Apple products. Its catalog includes MacBook Air in 13- and 15-inch sizes with M2, M3 and M4 chips, and 13- and 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2, M4 and M4 Pro Max chips, among other models. The company also sells Lenovo laptops, a brand it has recommended since 2005 for its performance, display quality and battery life of up to 12 hours. In its stores it offers a varying selection of refurbished equipment, both Mac and PC, with warranties of 90 to 180 days depending on the system.

Consulting and Cloud Backup Services

The company offers an individual consulting service called "Time With A Tech", in which a technician personally addresses the customer's computer questions or problems. This service is billed in 15-minute increments at $25 each, with a minimum of $50. Computer Concepts also recommends and supports Backblaze Cloud Backup, a cloud backup solution that can cover from a single personal Mac or PC to a thousand business workstations. To facilitate the acquisition of equipment, the company offers lease-to-own options through ACIMA Leasing.

Team and Awards

The management team includes Hank Healy, Jr. as senior manager and principal owner since 2004, with a previous career as a communications officer in the United States Army and a computer systems architect for government contractors. Alan Healy, lead technician and manager of the Yorktown store, is a certified Apple and Windows repair technician. Jeremy Rosa, co-owner since 2012, brings experience in business development and customer service, and holds Apple and Windows software and hardware certifications. Ryan Craig, general manager of the Williamsburg store, is an Apple Certified Support Professional, Apple Certified Mac Technician and Apple Certified iOS Technician. Brent Tesh is part of the Apple technical team in Yorktown. The company has received the Hampton Roads Best Of awards in the computer services category several times, as well as service awards from Apple Corporation.
