About Taqueria Zamora

The tortilla is the reason to begin here

Taqueria Zamora grew out of Don Alberto’s backyard cooking for friends and relatives. During the week he took homemade food through nearby neighborhoods in a shopping cart; in 1992 he opened his first restaurant. His family continues to place that beginning at the center of the business, alongside its handmade corn tortillas.

Those tortillas explain why a simple taco is a worthwhile order. Asada and carnitas are established choices, with chicken and seafood appearing across the wider menu. Local food writing has long singled out the generous tortilla and portion, while recent public feedback continues to emphasize the handmade masa. It is a place where the wrapper contributes materially to the meal.

The kitchen also makes huaraches, sopes, potato dorados, quesadillas and burritos. Breakfast is a strong alternative: chilaquiles with egg, chorizo and eggs, and breakfast burritos fit the early opening. Birria, pozole, menudo and other soups allow a table to move beyond the taco section without changing restaurants. Fish and shrimp tacos sit beside a broader seafood selection.

South Main Street, breakfast and catering

The address is 3121 South Main Street. Call 714-557-0907; the business also lists 714-557-2470. Its website publishes 7 a.m.–7 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday until 9 p.m.; current directories instead end both weekend days at 7 p.m. The early opening is consistent, while the weekend evening extension remains unreconciled.

For groups, the menu offers a taco party bar, burrito platters and trays of carnitas, beef with onions, chicken or shrimp fajitas, and ribs in green sauce. Half pans are described as serving five to ten people. The website links direct online ordering; the two published numbers are restaurant contacts. Takeaway is established, while delivery availability should be taken from the chosen checkout rather than assumed from the catering service.
