Virginia Two-Year College Transfer Grant

$1,000 base plus possible $1,000 major and campus bonuses; up to $3,000 annually, subject to SAI, GPA, deadlines, and funding.

About Virginia Two-Year College Transfer Grant

CTG is Virginia aid for the step from a public community college to a bachelor’s program at a participating university.

The 2026–27 application lists Virginia residency/in-state status, first enrollment at a four-year college, an associate degree from a Virginia public two-year college with at least a 3.0 GPA, calculated need with an SAI of $15,000 or less, and transfer by the term after earning the degree. FAFSA/VASA must meet campus deadlines; bonus awards require eligible majors.

Send the CTG application, final transcript showing degree and GPA, and FAFSA/VASA to the financial-aid office at each university where you apply. Participating schools and bonus majors can change; confirm both before relying on the grant. Ask for a transfer-credit evaluation because CTG does not guarantee credit equivalency or cover the full gap.

Who it serves and what it can cover: $1,000 base plus possible $1,000 major and campus bonuses; up to $3,000 annually, subject to SAI, GPA, deadlines, and funding.
