Ditch Witch is a family-owned food truck operating at Ditch Plains Beach in Montauk, New York, at the point where the sand meets the parking lot of this well-known surfing beach. The business dates back to 1994 and presents itself as a go-to dining option for locals and visitors.

Its origin goes back to the initiative of Lili, a chef with experience in renowned restaurants, who felt that hot dogs should not be the only offering at her hometown beach. From that idea the truck was born, which over time incorporated homemade beachside cuisine served season after season.

A three-decade family journey

Lili ran the business for twenty years, accompanied by her daughter Abby, who started helping out as a teenager, and by her youngest son, Grant, who joined the truck when he was old enough to work. In 2015, after Lili's retirement, Abby and Grant took over management and kept the family tradition alive.

The site indicated that the business was entering its twenty-seventh season, with an offering that combines the classics with new additions and specials from the current owners.

Dishes and specialties

Among the favorites served over the years are sesame noodles, chili, cinnamon buns and Greek salad. The current menu keeps the classics and adds items such as the Classic Poke Bowl and the Tomahawk, which according to the site have built a loyal following.
