About Milwaukee County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)

Milwaukee County’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is an entry point for older adults, people with disabilities, and family members trying to understand available support. Staff provide information and assistance, benefits counseling, and guidance for planning short- or long-term care needs. The office is at 1230 West Cherry Street; the main line is (414) 289-6874.

Callers can ask about meals, transportation, caregiver support, benefits assistance, and in-home services. The ADRC also starts the options-counseling process for long-term care programs; an inquiry is not enrollment and does not guarantee service availability. An assessment and program rules determine the next step.

The county lists hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an early Wednesday close at 1 p.m.; appointments outside those hours may be arranged on request. Before visiting, confirm whether an appointment is needed and which records to bring, such as address, health coverage, income information, mobility needs, and daily tasks requiring help.

For Milwaukee County residents, the center helps distinguish county programs, state resources, and community providers. If the need is specific—such as home-delivered meals or a ride to an appointment—explain the destination, frequency, and timing. Ask for the responsible provider, any suggested contribution, likely wait, and how an assessment will be confirmed.
