About Foundation for Seminole State College
The Foundation for Seminole State College administers more than 300 donor-funded scholarships for students at the public college serving Seminole County. Funds may be general, major-specific, or tied to student background: some consider GPA, others residency, community service, academic program, or personal circumstances. Opportunities appear on the site only during open application windows, so examples in a catalog are not a promise that every student will receive funding.
The Spring Term 2027 application is open and due Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Current students and prospective students who have applied for admission but do not yet have a college email may begin. The latter use the prospective-student link and a personal email; any award depends on enrolling for the term and verifying the application. After completing the first term, students apply through the current-student route.
The general form includes a 500-word essay about the student’s program, goals, financial obstacles, and how a scholarship would help. Applicants must then open each opportunity for which they qualify and submit any extra requirements, such as service details or a recommendation. Academic information may prefill for current students. Each fund has its own criteria, so the common form does not automatically mean that every individual award has been applied for.
For this cycle, the foundation requires a 2026–27 FAFSA on file with the financial-aid office even if a student does not expect federal assistance; it uses the information to assess need. Applicants who cannot complete FAFSA should contact the foundation for guidance. Dual-enrollment and transient students, non-degree students, and students taking a course at Seminole State toward a degree at another institution are excluded. The institution reports a historical average award of $846 in 2024–25, but it does not publish one universal 2027 award amount.
The foundation opens opportunities before each term and says students are notified before that term begins. For spring 2027 scholarship questions, contact foundationscholars@seminolestate.edu or 407-708-4567; the financial-aid office handles other aid questions at 407-708-2045. The office is listed at 1055 AAA Drive, Heathrow, Florida 32746. Watch RaiderConnect announcements and track admission, FAFSA, and scholarship dates separately.
