Major Movers Inc.

Major Movers Inc. works from Hamden and says it serves all 169 Connecticut municipalities. CTDOT’s decision identifies its headquarters at 39 Lexington Street. The company says many jobs are concentrated in New Haven County but that it accepts moves to any point in the state; if your destination is farther from its usual area, confirm availability before setting a date.

The published offer combines home, apartment and condo moves with office relocations, packing and unpacking, loading or unloading rental trucks and containers, and labor-only help when a customer already has a vehicle. The company also lists home, garage and office clean-outs. That range may suit customers who need only heavy lifting as well as those seeking help with several parts of a move.

Favorable comments on the Hamden Google Maps listing mention punctual and efficient crews, clear communication and careful furniture handling. Some describe loading a U-Haul, arranging a load for a self-driven trip or helping remove a sofa that would not fit through a doorway. These are accounts of specific jobs, not a universal description; clarify which tasks the crew will perform and which remain yours.

Its state permit is documented in a specific order: in March 2026, CTDOT granted Major Movers certificate HG1836 to carry household goods between all Connecticut points from Hamden. The company also appears on that year’s roster. The order required a vehicle registered and insured under the certificate within 90 days; check its current status in eLicense under RCHG and confirm the legal name on the estimate.

The company publishes statewide coverage, not a nationwide network. If your destination is outside Connecticut, ask whether the same carrier will handle the full route and separately verify its USDOT number, federal authority for household goods and legal name in FMCSA. CTDOT’s certificate governs routes within the state and does not replace those federal checks.

Major Movers lists (203) 694-0397, service@majormoversinc.com and a form to request a quote. Include floors, elevators, narrow halls, loading windows and the path from the door to the truck. This helps distinguish a move with a vehicle from labor-only loading and unloading.
