About Dallas County Promise at Dallas College
Dallas County Promise offers advising for students planning college after high school and may provide a last-dollar tuition grant at participating colleges. For the Dallas College pathway for fall 2027, the grant covers eligible tuition remaining after federal and state grants and scholarships are applied. It is not an automatic cash payment and does not work identically at every partner university: each partner publishes its own income rules, documents, and dates.
The application for the class graduating in 2027 requires a Promise Path form by February 5, 2027. For Dallas College, submit admission materials and a FAFSA or TASFA by the July 1 priority date, depending on eligibility; the page says that beginning in fall 2027, students must demonstrate need through Pell eligibility on FAFSA or TEOG/TPEG on TASFA. Applicants must graduate from a participating Dallas County high school and plan to start college the following fall. Confirm every step for your graduation year.
Dallas College lists FAFSA school code 004453 and requires students to choose a program eligible for federal aid, complete orientation, and enroll in courses required by that plan. Its page also lists admission documents, meningitis vaccination proof, and a final transcript. Verification tasks and outstanding documents must be completed before the semester’s final deadline. A Promise Path form does not replace a college admission application or a complete financial-aid file.
Tuition support is last-dollar funding and varies with the aid a student already receives. Dallas College says IncludEd provides textbooks at no cost for eligible courses; this is a separate benefit. The grant does not cover housing, meals, transportation, personal expenses, or unapproved programs. Some partner universities may cover mandatory fees as well as tuition or set different income limits, so read the page for the exact school before comparing offers.
The published Dallas College timeline lists February 5, 2027, for Promise Path and July 1 as the priority date for FAFSA/TASFA and admission. It also gives dates for enrollment and final paperwork; because the page uses different dates for later steps, complete everything early and confirm the final cutoff in the portal. Check your email and spam folder, keep your Promise ID, and ask a coach for a written estimate of tuition, prior aid, expected grant, and remaining balance. If TASFA applies, ask which form is right for you instead of filing the wrong one.
