FTD, an online florist with over a century in business

FTD is an online flower retailer established in 1910. Its catalog includes fresh flower bouquets, plants, and gift baskets, with same-day delivery options available for many items. The company operates through a network of partner florists who prepare and deliver orders in the recipient's area.

Catalog of flowers, plants, and gifts

The selection is organized by product type and occasion. Flowers include mixed bouquets, roses, lilies, hydrangeas, sunflowers, mums, and preserved roses. Plants include potted options, flowering plants, orchids, peace lilies, dish gardens, succulents, mini trees, and pet-friendly varieties. The gift section features fruit baskets, chocolate-covered strawberries, snacks and sweets, chocolate gift baskets, cookies and baked goods, healthy gift baskets, wine gifts, jewelry, and candles.

The catalog is also grouped by occasion: birthdays, sympathy, funerals, anniversaries, thank you, congratulations, get well, new baby, retirement, and thinking of you. It also covers seasonal dates such as Halloween, Boss's Day, Sweetest Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, and Mother's Day.

Same-day delivery and coverage

FTD offers same-day delivery on many arrangements, provided the order is placed before 2:00 p.m. in the recipient's time zone on weekdays and before 1:00 p.m. on weekends. Delivery service is available Monday through Saturday, with Sunday delivery in certain areas.

The company states that it serves nearly all of the United States and Canada and has expanded its operations to more than 150 countries. Within the United States, shipments can be made via FedEx, UPS, or USPS, or through local florists in the recipient's area. Standard shipping and delivery fees start at $19.99, though the price may vary depending on the destination, delivery timeframe, or calendar date.

Collections and featured products

The site features a limited-edition collection created in collaboration with the film Practical Magic 2, with bouquets inspired by characters and scenes from the movie. Fall seasonal products include the Afternoon Light Bouquet, Fall Foliage Bouquet, Burgundy Landscape Bouquet, and Scents of Autumn Bouquet, with prices ranging from $50 to $110 depending on the item and size. Best sellers include the Clear Skies Bouquet, Fiesta Bouquet, French Market Bouquet with Ivory Vase, and Smiles & Sunshine, with price ranges from $50 to $130.

Shopping and customer service

The shopping process takes place online: users select a bouquet or gift from the catalog, add available customization options, and send it to the recipient's address. The company offers customer service 24 hours a day and provides tools to manage accounts, view order history, and track shipment status.

FTD also offers benefit programs for AARP and USAA members, an affiliate program, and a network open to florists who wish to join as partners. The company maintains a blog with content about flowers and plants, flower and plant guides, and publishes corporate information about its operations, delivery policy, and affiliate program.
