From two kitchens in Jerez to a restaurant in Centennial

The story the company shares begins in two homes in Jerez, Zacatecas. In one, Ricarda and Don José raised fifteen children; in the other, Josefina and Pedro raised eight. In total, twenty-three siblings across both kitchens, with one common rule: nobody leaves hungry and every plate is served full.

José Ramírez was the seventh of those fifteen children. Martha came from the Delgado house. Both brought their mothers' recipes north, and in 2002 they opened the first Los Dos Potrillos in Centennial. The name comes from their two sons, Danny and Luis: the two colts.

An expansion built in two stages

According to the corporate account, José and Martha built the first neighborhood location and the next two restaurants. Danny and Luis took charge of the four that followed, completing the six current locations. The company describes that journey as a circle returning to the same kitchens and the same standard, rather than a ladder of growth.
