About Roberta's Pizza

Roberta's Pizza: Neapolitan pizzeria with Brooklyn roots

Roberta's Pizza is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria that opened in 2008 in a cinderblock warehouse in Bushwick, Brooklyn. What began as a neighborhood spot became an internationally recognized culinary destination and a hub for creative entrepreneurship. The company was founded by Brandon Hoy and Carlo Mirarchi.

Brandon Hoy, hailing from Napa Valley, worked at the legendary St. Helena butchery Ernie's Meats before moving to New York and entering the nightlife scene. He is also a co-founder of the 40,000-square-foot urban farm Brooklyn Grange. Carlo Mirarchi is a chef and co-founder of Roberta's and Ezio's; his cooking is characterized by the use of seasonal ingredients and wood-fired oven techniques, and his work spans several restaurants, a national frozen pizza line, and appearances at culinary events and festivals.

A seasonal menu beyond pizza

Roberta's menu brings together a diverse collection of seasonally focused dishes. It includes wood-fired Neapolitan-inspired pizzas, house-cured meats, handmade pasta, seasonal seafood and vegetable dishes, and equally ambitious desserts. The dough is naturally fermented and made fresh daily; the company states it uses high-quality, seasonal, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, both in its products and its cheeses.

The menu includes vegetarian options and rotating seasonal dishes. Vegan options are available at select locations, according to the company.

Catering and events services

Roberta's offers full-scale on- and off-site food and beverage services, using seasonal ingredients and keeping in the vein and vision of the restaurant. The company states that each event is presented with the same quality as the food served directly from its kitchens. It serves both small gatherings and larger celebrations, with tailored menus.

Expansion and locations

After the original opening in Bushwick in 2008, the company grew with its first permanent West Coast location at Culver City's Platform complex (Los Angeles) in September 2018, followed shortly by a Studio City outpost. In 2020 it debuted in Nashville as a pop-up; the response led to permanent roots with a full-service restaurant in East Nashville and an R Slice location in the historic downtown Arcade. In 2021 it opened at Domino Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by the waterfront. In 2024 it added a location in the Penn District, just steps from Madison Square Garden.

The confirmed locations are: Culver City (8810 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232); Bushwick (261 Moore Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206); Domino Park (6 Grand St., Brooklyn, NY 11249); MSG (1 Penn Plaza, Plaza 33 East, NY, NY 10119); and Nashville, at Urban Cowboy (103 N 16th St, Nashville, TN 37206).

Ordering, delivery, and product sales

The company allows online ordering for pickup and, in select areas, delivery through its delivery partners; availability varies by location. It also offers frozen pizza and a shop with branded products, merchandise, and gift cards. In addition to the Roberta's brand, the group includes RSlice and Ezio's Steakhouse.
