About Austin Community College — Highland Campus
Highland transformed the former Highland Mall into a large campus north of downtown Austin. That adaptive reuse is part of its recent history: former retail corridors now connect classrooms, labs, and study areas. Its ACCelerator offers hundreds of computer workstations and academic support, a place to work with instructors and tutors during published hours.
The academic mix spans culinary arts, fashion, music, radio and television, film, visual design, gaming, jewelry, theatre, and dance, alongside engineering and transfer coursework. The Welcome Center hosts financial-aid and scholarship workshops, while the ACCelerator provides hundreds of computer stations and academic support for students.
The district provides free student and visitor parking, first-come and subject to signs. Because the complex is large, check the building map before an appointment; the useful bus line and entrance depend on your starting point. The official page lists different hours by building and service, so verify whether you need the ACCelerator, advising, a creative lab, or the Welcome Center.
