Its principals, Ashley and Joe, have a wealth of experience in the sector: Ashley spent much of his career at Europe's largest vehicle auction group, where he held senior positions, and in the 1990s was Group Used Car Director at what was then the UK's largest dealer group. Joe, for his part, grew up in the family car business, completed his apprenticeship at Fiat and in the late 1980s opened an Alfa Romeo dealership in North London.

The company's approach is to support the client throughout the entire process of buying or selling a vehicle, whether they know exactly which model they want or have no idea where to start. The service is described as relaxed and informal, with attention to detail, and is offered regardless of budget or the type of car chosen. The four stages of the process

The working method is organised into four stages:

• Initial consultation: a phone call or meeting to listen to what the client needs and assess the available options. If the client already has a specific model in mind, the company will track it down.
• Sourcing: market research and full history check on every vehicle, including checks for total loss or accident repairs, theft, mileage and history. A shortlist of recommendations is then drawn up and, once the car is chosen, it is inspected, the description is verified against the actual vehicle and the purchase is negotiated on the client's behalf.
• Preparation: full independent mechanical inspection, service and MOT if required, disinfection and deep cleaning, and preparation of all documentation.
• Delivery: registration, transfer of ownership and handover of the vehicle to the client, with an explanation of all its features and handover of the documentation.

Complementary services

In addition to sourcing and buying, Emotive Car Sourcing handles the valuation and part exchange of the client's old vehicle and advises on finance and warranty options. The company has signed an agreement with the RAC to offer optional extended warranty. It also maintains regular contact with the client throughout the entire process.

Environmental commitment
