LOWA UK

LOWA UK, British distribution of outdoor boots

LOWA UK is the distribution channel for the LOWA mountain footwear brand in the UK market. The operation is run by TKC Sales Ltd., the company listed as distributor, which handles orders placed through the lowa.co.uk online store. The brand presents itself as having over a century of history and describes its outdoor boots as benchmarks for comfort and lightweight support.

Footwear and accessories catalogue

The range is organised by use and by audience. In footwear, the catalogue covers boots and shoes for mountaineering, trekking, hiking, light hiking, travel and walking, trail running, field sports and hunting, the professional line and cold weather, as well as waterproof and textile versions. There are specific sections for women, men and children, and wide fits are included.

Notable models include the Skyterra, a trail running shoe with cushioning aimed at long runs; the LOWA Explorer GTX Mid, a lightweight, dynamic trekking boot; the Renegade EVO GTX Mid, an update of a classic designed for daily hikes; and the Cevedale Pro GTX, an alpine mountaineering boot. Other names in the catalogue include Ventierra GTX Lo Ws, Lady Light Evo GTX, Innovo GTX Mid Ws and Zephyr GTX Mid TF.

The accessories section includes footwear aftercare products, socks, insoles and laces. The store also has a sale section with selections for men, women and a sample of products.

Technology, repair and sustainability

The site has a section explaining the technology and features applied to the range, as well as the materials used and the manufacturing process. Some footwear carries the resoleable sole icon and can be fully resoled; not all models allow this due to their construction. For repairs in the UK, the company exclusively recommends Lancashire Sports Repairs. The brand has a vegan product line identified as 100% vegan. The manufacturer's warranty covers 12 months and excludes damage resulting from negligence, misuse, improper fit, wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or modifications, as well as indirect damage other than to the footwear itself. On corporate responsibility, the site refers to sustainability information.

Purchasing, shipping and returns

Sales are made through the online store. Orders are shipped to residential or commercial addresses in the UK; delivery outside that territory is not offered. Areas in the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Outer Hebrides and the Orkney Islands may require up to three additional days. Shipping is handled by DPD and orders under £40 are delivered via Royal Mail First Class. All shipments are trackable. The company states that it aims to dispatch within 24 hours of receiving the order and that cancellation requests can be processed by contacting customer service.

Returns are allowed within 30 days and are handled with a prepaid DPD label to drop the parcel at a network collection point. The policy is presented as hassle-free with a full refund if the product meets the stated conditions; accessories are excluded from this policy. The site warns that, during the stocktake period, orders placed after 1pm on 30 September will be dispatched by 6 October.

Customer service and retail network

The company maintains a contact form with categories for general enquiries, orders, product information, warranty and partnership programmes. The messaging service is staffed Monday to Thursday from 8:30 to 17:00 and Fridays from 8:00 to 16:00, with a target response time of 48 hours within those hours. To try the footwear before buying, the site offers a stockist search and recommends visiting a retail point so staff can measure the foot and advise on fit. The brand also runs a partner programme under the name Love Lowa.
