About Zenova Energy

Zenova Energy: solar power, batteries and EV charging in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Zenova Energy is a company based in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire that installs solar energy systems, battery storage and electric vehicle chargers in homes. Its approach relies on an online quoting process that provides an indicative price in minutes, without sales calls or obligation, and on certified installers for every job.

The company states it operates and is based in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, and its coverage area includes Yorkshire, the Humber and Lincolnshire. In addition to installation, it handles grant applications from start to finish and offers a post-installation follow-up service.

Online quote and remote survey

The website allows you to start a solar or EV charger quote based on the property's address or postcode. For solar, the tool shows a proposed panel layout on the roof, with a standard panel size of 1.72 m × 1.13 m, and lets you adjust the number of panels. The company warns that this configuration is indicative and that the final layout is confirmed in a free remote survey.

The solar quote includes the selection of a 10.2 kWh battery, bird protection and backup power options during a power cut, from a single socket to the whole house or just selected appliances. It also shows estimates of annual generation, bill savings, export income and payback period, calculated from the annual electricity bill of a typical UK household rather than the customer's actual usage.

For EV chargers, the form asks for the cable length and the distance from the meter to the charger, with ranges of 0–5 metres, 6–10, 11–15, 16–20 and 21 metres or more. The installed price includes standard installation; additional cable runs are billed at £6.55 per metre plus VAT beyond the length included with the charger.

What it installs

The company groups its offering into four lines, one of which is not yet available:

  • Solar panels: electricity generation from daylight, even on cloudy days. The packages use JA Solar 465 W panels and include G99 notification and a 25-year panel warranty.
  • Battery storage: storage of unused energy to reduce grid reliance and charge on off-peak tariffs when there is no sun. The battery warranty is 10 years.
  • EV chargers: overnight charging at a lower cost than public charging, control from your phone and compatibility with smart off-peak tariffs; it also allows charging with energy from solar panels.
  • Heat pumps: the company announces them as coming soon, with efficiency of up to 400% compared to a boiler, but they are not yet available.

The warranties stated on the site are 25 years for panels, 10 years for batteries, 5 years for inverters and 6 years for workmanship.

Installation process and aftercare

The journey described by the company begins with the instant online quote, continues with a free remote survey to confirm exact requirements without the customer needing to be at home, and then proceeds to installation, which is tailored to each home. Afterwards, the company offers support for any needs and a follow-up check-in.

The company also handles grant management from start to finish, aiming to save the customer paperwork.

Customer reviews

The site shows a score of 4.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot and 5.0 out of 5 on Google. It includes testimonials from customers who highlight the speed and communication during the installation of solar panels and a solar-plus-battery system, as well as the reduction in their energy bill.

Contact and opening hours

The company can be reached by phone and email, and also offers a WhatsApp messaging channel. Its opening hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and it is closed on bank holidays.
