About toob

toob, full-fibre broadband in England and Scotland

toob is a British telecommunications operator founded in 2017 with the aim of providing affordable ultrafast internet to homes and businesses across the UK. Its network is built entirely with full-fibre technology and, since 2022, it has maintained a partnership with CityFibre to expand the service in England and Scotland over this operator's fibre network. The company reports over 1,000 km of fibre cabling, a presence in more than 130 locations and a workforce of over 250 employees.

Residential plans and symmetrical speeds

The home catalogue is organised into plans with the same upload and download speed, all including a Wi-Fi 7 router, free installation and no upfront costs or hidden fees. The company listed the following options:

  • home150: 150 Mbps, presented as the best value option for light streaming and social media.
  • home900: 900 Mbps, aimed at multiple devices, 4K streaming and simultaneous remote working.
  • home2300: 2,300 Mbps, for households with gamers, creators and intensive use.

Published prices vary depending on the contract term and location. On a 24-month contract, the website showed £18 per month for home150, £23 for home900 and £29 for home2300, with increases planned from April 2027 and April 2028. On a 12-month contract, the prices were £23, £29 and £35 respectively, and there was a monthly rolling option for home900 at £39. The 24-month promotion was limited to new customers ordering between 9 September and 3 November 2026, and availability and the final price depend on the postcode.

Equipment and Wi-Fi coverage

All plans include a router with Wi-Fi 7, dual-band technology that the company presents as more efficient and capable of supporting more connected devices. For homes with coverage blackspots, it offers the complete wi-fi add-on, based on mesh extenders. The guarantee associated with this service sets a minimum of 35 Mbps in the main rooms of the home, with the possibility of cancelling the contract without penalty if that coverage is not achieved.

Customer profiles and additional services

The offering is segmented by user type: families needing multiple simultaneous connections, remote workers who depend on stable video calls, gamers seeking low latency and students on a 12-month contract. In addition to residential plans, the company sells business services, static IP addresses and a social tariff called toob essentials. It also offers digital phone connection through an agreement with the provider Phonely.

Structure, team and awards

The main office is in Portsmouth and the company has a second office in Stockton-on-Tees. It was founded by former Vodafone executives Nick Parbutt, CEO, and Mike Banwell, who are joined by Andy Luckham (Operations & IT), Di Godsave (Strategy, Commercial & Propositions), Sean Teggart (Technology), Sophia Langton (Human Resources, joined in 2023) and Sarah Herriman as Chief Financial Officer in 2026. The company states it has more than 125,000 customers and cites among its awards Best Value Provider at the Broadband Genie Awards 2024 and Contact Centre of the Year at the NECCA 2025.

Community activity

toob links its activity to the communities where it operates through events, donated installations, sponsorships and volunteering, as well as its social tariff for households in difficulty. The company maintains that access to a fast and reliable connection benefits these communities regardless of income level, technical knowledge or age.
