History: from a sack of hops to a leading store

Crossmyloof Brew began in 2014, when a commercial brewer friend arrived with a surplus sack of hops and the task of finding a home for them. What started as a few bags of hops grew into a well-known supplier among homebrewers in the United Kingdom. Over the years, the catalogue expanded from hops to yeasts, malt, all-grain recipe kits and ingredients for wine and cider.

At the end of 2024, its founder, Steve, retired after ten years at the helm of the business. The current owners, customers of the store and homebrewers, took over the project and moved the operation to its new location in the Cambridgeshire Fens. The company maintains its focus on ingredient quality and customer service, with the intention of continuing to develop recipe kits, collaborations and brewing guides.
