Lenstore is an online store specialising in contact lenses that has been operating since 2008. The company presents itself as a pioneer in selling lenses over the internet in the UK, a channel that was unusual at the time and that other countries were already testing. Since then it has grown from a small team in a small office to a workforce of more than eighty people, according to its own description.

Lens and brand catalogue

The catalogue is organised by lens type and by brand. Among the available types are daily, two-weekly and monthly lenses, as well as toric lenses for astigmatism, multifocal, coloured and daily toric. The store also groups a selection of cheap lenses and another of bestsellers.

Among the brands it sells are Acuvue, Air Optix, Biofinity, Dailies, MyDay, Proclear and PureVision, as well as Specsavers/Easyvision and Boots. In the bestsellers selection, the site showed, among others, 1 Day ACUVUE MOIST, everclear ELITE, Dailies AquaComfort Plus, ACUVUE Oasys 1 Day, 1 Day ACUVUE MOIST for Astigmatism and everclear AIR. The full ACUVUE OASYS MAX range was announced as a new arrival available.

In addition to lenses, Lenstore sells solutions and eye care products. The range includes multi-purpose solutions, saline, hydrogen peroxide and products for hard or RGP lenses. It also sells cases, artificial tears, dry eye products and eye vitamins, with brands such as ReNu, Biotrue, Hycosan, Blink, Systane, Optrex and MacuShield.

Customer support services

The company has its own optometrists to answer queries and offers free eye tests, which can be booked from the user's account. The site includes a Help Centre, live chat support and a customer services email address. It also publishes guides on how to read a prescription, how to put in and take out contact lenses or how to check if they are inside-out, along with information on myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, dry eye and conjunctivitis.

Delivery, orders and customer benefits

Lenstore states that next-day delivery is the standard and that orders for in-stock items placed before 11pm are served with that option. According to its data, 94.4% of orders are dispatched the same day. The store offers an Auto Reorder service with a 5% discount on every renewal, as well as student and key worker discounts. Customers can manage their address book, reorder and download invoices from their account.

History and recognition

The company remembers its first customer, from Surrey, and maintains a memorial page for Stephanie McLean, a colleague in the marketing department who passed away. Lenstore states that it obtained Great Place To Work certification in 2022-2023.
