History

The company was founded by Adam Charlesworth, who started the business from his home. In 2009 Alan Spalding joined as managing director and in 2010 the firm moved to its first office at the Castle Cavendish Business Centre. Turnover exceeded £5 million in 2014 and in 2017 the company bought and moved into its current headquarters at Chase Park. In 2019 it acquired Elizabeth Michael Associates Ltd, an office recruitment consultancy based in Nottingham, which operates as a sister company. In 2021 turnover exceeded £15 million, with more than 400 clients served. In 2022 it carried out an extensive refurbishment of its Chase Park headquarters and in 2023 it expanded its management team. In 2024 it acquired Simon Nicholas Associates, bringing in Simon Pearce as business director.

International presence

In addition to its UK headquarters, the company maintains an office in the United States, in Miami (Florida), from which it serves the US market under the Approach Talent USA brand.
