Classic games with origins in the London workshops

The company links part of its catalog to classic games that, according to its account, originated in its London workshops. These include backgammon, whose beginnings date back to 1849, chess and draughts, traditional games and dominoes. The firm presents itself as the creator of games that have become part of the usual family repertoire.

Gift selection by age and budget

The website organises shopping through a gift selection by age, with categories for babies and for children aged 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 or over, as well as a section for adults. It also allows filtering by budget, with ranges from under £10 to over £60, and by recipient type, with options for girls, boys, adults and grandparents. The company also offers e-gift cards and gift sets.

Shipping and returns

Jaques of London manages shipping through Evri and FedEx. Standard delivery usually takes 3–5 working days with Evri, or 2–3 working days with FedEx. Next working day delivery with FedEx is available on eligible orders placed before 1pm, Monday to Friday; orders placed after that time, at weekends or on bank holidays are processed on the next working day. The company warns that delivery times may vary for larger items, such as certain croquet and luxury chess products. Once the order has been dispatched, the customer receives tracking details by email.

As for returns, the company applies a standard period of 30 days from the date of purchase. For orders placed between 1 October and 31 December 2026, the return period is extended until 31 January 2027. Orders placed from 1 January 2027 onwards are subject to the standard 30-day period. To arrange a return, the company states that you must contact its customer service team by email, indicating the order number and the item.
