Lavolio Confectionery

Brand created by Lavinia Davolio in London in 2013, with handmade Italian chocolate, nut, and fruit confectionery in reusable gift tins.

About Lavolio Confectionery

Lavinia Davolio moved from banking to confectionery to create Lavolio in 2013. The brand began in London with handmade pieces sold at local food markets, inspired by Italian techniques for coating nuts and fruit. Production in Italy and gift design became two parts of the same offering: small sweets with layers of flavor, texture, and color.

Its launch at Fortnum & Mason in 2014 and Great Taste recognition are part of the company’s account of its history. Over time, tins became central, including designs inspired by William Morris. In 2020, the business placed greater emphasis on online sales, which now bring together collections and gifting options.

The sweets combine roasted almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, candied fruit, chocolate, and spices. Layers of chocolate and sugar surround a center that can provide a crunchy or fruity texture. This structure distinguishes the range from a box of cream-filled chocolates: the contrast is built around the nut or fruit and its different coatings.

La Foresta Incantata brings together chocolate and crunchy ingredients, with a version in William Morris packaging. Il Mercante di Spezie explores coffee and spices, while Il Giardino Segreto develops fruit and citrus notes. La Foresta Vegan offers a collection identified as vegan. Each Italian name corresponds to its own combination and presentation.

Delizia di Ovetti features miniature chocolate eggs with a toasted-almond center. Cocco di Mamma focuses on coconut, and Le Mille e Una Notte includes ginger, violet, and pistachio references. Lavolio+ Perle di Forza adds a dark chocolate and hazelnut offering with plant-based protein, separate from the catalog’s traditional collections.

The tins are designed to be kept and reused once the sweets are gone. Medium formats contain approximately thirty pieces and large ones around sixty, according to the brand. That scale supports choosing between a small gift for a visit and a larger assortment to share at a celebration.

The store organizes purchases around collections and gifts, with international shipping and a trade channel. The company states that its recipes are palm-oil-free and provides storage guidance for a cool, dry place. The range combines Italian confectionery traditions, different textures, and objects intended to remain at home after the tasting.
