About Dishoom

Dishoom, Indian cafés inspired by Bombay's food

Dishoom is a chain of cafés and restaurants that pays homage to Bombay's food. Its locations, open all day from breakfast through dinner and later, serve comforting dishes from the city and first-class drinks. The company presents itself as a project that aims to make customers feel as if they have traveled to Bombay through its culinary offerings.

A menu that traverses Bombay's flavors

The culinary offering spans from breakfast to dinner. Breakfast options include the Bacon Naan Roll, Akuri (spiced scrambled eggs) with pau bread, and date and banana porridge. For lunch, the menu features rolls such as the Paneer Roomali Roll and salads. Throughout the day, one can enjoy chai, and in the evening, smoked grills, spiced curries, and dishes like Makhmali Paneer with Tandoori Chaat or Goan Monkfish Curry are offered. The selection is completed with classics such as Chicken Berry Britannia Biryani, Gunpowder Potatoes, coriander and mint chutney, Haleem, and vegan options like chilli broccoli salad.

Locations and formats

Dishoom operates several cafés in the UK, including Battersea, Borough (opening soon), Canary Wharf, Carnaby, Covent Garden, Kensington, King's Cross, and Shoreditch in London, as well as in Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Manchester. Additionally, it has Permit Rooms, an all-day bar-café format inspired by Bombay's drinking history, present in Brighton, Cambridge, and Oxford. There are also locations under the Lodgings name in Portobello and Liverpool. Each café is presented with its own founding story, rooted in Bombay's history or culture, giving it a distinctive personality.

Shop and home products

The company has an online shop with a selection of gifts and items to enjoy at home. The catalog includes meal kits, cookbooks, music, homeware, clothing and merchandise, as well as gift cards. It also offers recipes to recreate at home some of the dishes from its cafés, such as Chicken Berry Britannia Biryani, Gunpowder Potatoes, coriander and mint chutney, chilli broccoli salad, Tandoori Chaat, Haleem, and Bacon Naan Roll.

Awards and social commitment

Among the recognitions the company highlights are the Best Places to Work 2025 award from The Sunday Times and the MCA Best Restaurant Company 2024. It also notes that it has donated 25 million meals and holds B-Corp certification.
