Products and levels of cover

The range is organised into three main policies, which customers can tailor to their needs. The Accident Only policy covers up to £2,000 per year in veterinary fees for an unlimited number of accidental injuries. The Premier policy raises cover to £2,000 per condition per year, also with no limit on the number of conditions, and includes complementary medicine, special diet, death of pet, transportation costs, loss by theft or straying, and advertising and reward. The Premier Plus policy increases the limit to £5,000 per condition per year, with the same additional benefits. The company also offers specific insurance for dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and multi-pet households, and states that maximum cover can reach £7,000 per condition per year.

The network of accredited vets

Vetsure has established agreements with hundreds of veterinary clinics across the UK. Using a network-accredited practice reduces the excess amount and allows the insurer to settle directly with the clinic, so the owner only pays the excess at the time of treatment. Claims can be processed digitally through the E-Claims system, which in some cases allows them to be settled within hours. If there is no accredited clinic in the policyholder's area, the policy can be used at any other veterinary practice, although with a slightly higher excess.
