About QuickFile

QuickFile, cloud accounting software for SMEs

QuickFile is an online accounting application aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. Its approach is built around a single dashboard from which you can manage invoicing, expenses, receipts, VAT and bank transactions. The company presents itself as a simple, fast and intuitive tool, without a steep learning curve, and offers support to its users.

Invoicing, payments and client portal

The system allows you to create customisable and fully trackable invoices. It includes automated payment reminders to avoid manually chasing unpaid invoices and a branded portal where clients can view, download, print and pay their invoices. Supported payment gateways include PayPal, Stripe, GoCardless, Square and SumUp. In addition to invoices, the tool covers estimates, purchase orders and delivery notes.

Bank automation and reconciliation

QuickFile connects to over 50 UK banking institutions to automatically import transactions and eliminate manual reconciliation. The platform states compatibility with Open Banking and connection to over 300 web services. Bank reconciliation is presented as one of the core functions for keeping accounting balances aligned with actual transactions.

Receipts, documents and mobile app

Receipts can be captured from the iOS and Android mobile app, which stores them in the cloud and allows you to tag them from the device itself or upload them to the Receipt Hub to classify them later. The platform centralises receipts, sales invoice attachments, contracts and correspondence in one place, all indexed and accessible.

VAT, reporting and tax compliance

QuickFile allows you to prepare and file VAT returns directly to HMRC, with support for Standard and Flat Rate VAT methods, on both a cash and accrual basis. The tool states compatibility with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax and Self-Assessment (MTD ITSA), which makes it easier for landlords and self-employed workers to submit their periodic updates. It includes reports and customisation tools, grouping activity through projects and charts to analyse trends.

Integrations, security and backups

The platform offers direct integrations with Companies House, HMRC, SumUp, PayPal, Dropbox and GoCardless, plus hundreds of additional services through Zapier. It has a documented API to connect with your own back office systems. Security is reinforced with two-factor authentication. As for continuity, the company runs full remote backups every 15 minutes and allows you to schedule account backups on a weekly or monthly basis.

Free model and multi-currency support

The software is free for small and medium-sized accounts as long as your 12-month nominal ledger count remains under 1,000. The tool supports multiple currencies in sales, purchases and foreign currency bank accounts. QuickFile Ltd is registered in England and Wales with number 7109543.
