About The Meraki Group
The Meraki Group: communications, IT, security and energy for UK businesses
The Meraki Group is a British company that brings together four specialist divisions — communications, technology, security and energy — under a single structure. Its approach is to manage as one connected whole services that are usually bought separately, with a single point of contact and a support team that understands the client's overall setup. The company states that some services are delivered by its own teams and others are provided through selected partners, with responsibility clearly defined in each case.
Communications: telephony, broadband and connectivity
The communications division covers VoIP and hosted telephony, business broadband, mobile solutions and SIMs, as well as connectivity bundles. The stated aim is to keep the client's business connected with reliability and confidence.
Technology: managed support, cyber security and cloud
The technology area includes managed IT support, cyber security, AI solutions, cloud services and Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, and network and infrastructure. The company presents AI as a line focused on specific, practical business tasks, not as an end in itself.
Security: CCTV, alarms and access control
The security division comprises CCTV systems, intruder alarm installation, access control and integrated security systems, with professionally managed service.
Energy: procurement and contract management
In the energy field, the company offers independent energy procurement, contract management and usage reviews, in order to help businesses secure better rates and reduce their energy costs.
History: from a local business to national coverage
The company describes its origins in the living room of the home of Lloyd, its founder, serving local businesses that needed reliable telephony and connectivity. As demand grew, a management team was brought in to scale the business and the company outgrew two offices. By 2024 it was serving the whole of the UK with engineers and specialists distributed across the country. Today it has a workforce of around 45 people and more than 2,500 clients, organised into the four divisions mentioned above.
Lloyd has worked in the communications and technology sector since 2013. According to the company itself, his experience of the rushed or confusing support that small businesses received led him to propose a model based on clarity, honesty and a real presence with the client. That approach is reflected in the name Meraki, which the company associates with putting care, thought and personal commitment into the work. The founder still personally visits clients, whatever their size, to understand how their business works before making recommendations.
Team and commitment to training
The company notes that people are as central as clients and that learning programmes and opportunities for young talent are an essential part of its activity. Lloyd recalls being the youngest in the room at the start of his career and his intention to create an environment where motivated and capable people can train, grow and build something they are proud to be part of.
Partnership with Friends Fighting Cancer
The Meraki Group supports Friends Fighting Cancer, a local charity that provides direct financial support to families affected by cancer in the south of England, including Portsmouth, Chichester, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. Founded in 2008, the organisation grew from a single football tournament to raising more than one million pounds for local families and cancer-related causes. In 2019 it became an independent registered charity, allowing it to award means-tested grants directly to families, often within 24 hours. Funds are used to ease the financial pressure that accompanies illness, covering everyday costs at the time of greatest need. The organisation runs with a team of volunteers and receives support from local businesses, participants and sponsors through football tournaments, walking challenges, raffles, boxing events and other community initiatives.
