About Sustain Eco

Sustain Eco, renewable installer in Bristol

Sustain Eco is a renewable technology installation company based in Bristol that presents itself as accredited by the Micro Certification Scheme (MCS), HIES and the Renewable Energy Care Commission (RECC). Its activity is aimed at UK households and, according to the company, it serves the South, the Midlands and North East England.

The company defines itself as a co-operative, a structure that, according to its own explanation, seeks to ensure that everyone involved has a collective interest in the quality of service. Its two owners have, jointly, more than twenty years of experience in the renewables sector.

Technical specialisation

The design and installation of renewable energy systems form the core of its offering. The company lists solar PV, air source heating and solar thermal among its specialities, and its catalogue also includes batteries, thermal batteries and ground source heating.

Working method

The process described by the company is divided into four phases. It begins with a consultation in which the home is visited to understand the client's needs in detail and to propose the most suitable technology; the firm maintains that there is no single solution valid for all cases and that additional visits may be necessary to carry out technical or energy surveys.

The second phase is design: a team of engineers prepares a bespoke plan for the chosen technology aimed at maximising energy efficiency and reducing expenditure. The third is installation, managed by a dedicated project manager who oversees the entire process, handles commissioning and verifies compliance with regulatory requirements. The company also states that it supports the client in applying for possible public incentives and provides a full handover pack for the installation.

The final phase is after-sales service, which the company sees as a long-term relationship. In addition to manufacturers' warranties, it offers a ten-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty and ongoing technical support. It also has maintenance packages tailored to each system to maintain optimum performance and reduce servicing costs.

Founders' profiles

Tony Rose worked for 22 years as an independent financial adviser before becoming interested in renewable technologies, a field in which he has accumulated eleven years of dedication. His own home has solar panels, an air source heat pump and a rainwater harvesting system.

Richard Ward was a project manager delivering multi-million-pound contracts for UK manufacturing and logistics companies. From 2010 he carried out consultancy work in the solar market and subsequently worked with some of the country's largest renewable energy companies, installing large-scale solar, biomass boilers, air source heating and ground source heating before setting up Sustain Eco.
