The price of basic breakdown cover starts at £5.29 per month, according to the website information, although the company itself states that at least 10% of new customers pay that rate for the single-vehicle Roadside (Basic) option.

Car and home insurance

RAC sells car insurance, including options for learner drivers, young drivers, classic cars, electric cars, car hire excess and test drive insurance. It also offers home insurance (buildings and contents), van, motorbike, travel, business and legal expenses insurance. The company states that online car insurance can be purchased for £166 or less, a rate that, according to its data, was paid by 10% of new customers between July 2025 and June 2026.

Service, repair and maintenance at home
