About logy

logy, contemporary Asian cuisine in Taipei

logy is a fine dining restaurant located in the Neihu District of Taipei, Taiwan. Its proposal revolves around Asian culinary diversity, interpreted through the establishment's own Japanese and Taiwanese heritage. The name logy refers to a suffix denoting "study" and "theory", and the house presents it as a meeting point where Asia's living cultures and their wisdom intertwine.

The cuisine combines ingredients, techniques and traditions inherited from different Asian cultures, with the stated intention of creating gastronomic experiences that do not fit a single category. Among the elements the restaurant highlights as central are nature, climate, humanity, faith and food traditions.

Chef Ryogo Tahara

Ryogo Tahara was born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1983. His training includes a period in Italy, where he worked under chefs such as Gennaro Esposito of La Torre del Saracino (Vico Equense), and Maurilio Garola of La Ciau del Tornavento (Treiso). He later served as sous-chef for three years under Hiroyasu Kawate at Florilège (Tokyo).

In 2018 he opened logy in Taipei, the city where the restaurant reopened in 2025. The chef's and the project's trajectory is presented as a continuation of that pursuit of excellence, with an intimate space in which gastronomy and shared moments take on central value.

A proposal between tradition and innovation

The restaurant places its cuisine at the crossroads of tradition and innovation within Asian culinary culture. The house describes how ingredients and cooking methods have transcended borders along routes such as the ancient Silk Road, evolving into unique expressions. That diversity translates into a cuisine that reimagines inherited heritage with a contemporary sensibility.

logy presents itself as a project that seeks to create an ideal restaurant where the value of gastronomy and of shared moments endures through generations. The experience is set in an intimate space, designed so that food and conversation transcend time.

The MICHELIN Guide Taiwan 2024 awarded logy two stars. In 2025, the restaurant ranks No. 26 on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list.
