Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine: hotel, winery and spa in the Duero Valley

Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine is a hotel and wine estate located in Sardón de Duero, in the province of Valladolid, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. It occupies a monastery of the 12th century and combines five-star accommodation, wine production with its own Protected Designation of Origin, fine cuisine and a wellness space. The estate covers 700 hectares, of which 193 are vineyards.

Accommodation in a monastery of the 12th century

The hotel, awarded with three Michelin Keys, has 27 double rooms and 3 suites located in the monastery’s former guest house, overlooking the vineyards. The accommodation offer is complete with categories such as the Junior Suite, the Master Suite and the Two Bedroom Suite. The establishment is presented as a place where history and tradition are preserved, and offers services such as a loyalty club called LeDomaine Leaders Club, getaways and celebrations.

Winery with Protected Designation of Origin

The winery has more than 30 years of history and more than eight centuries of documented wine tradition. The founding monks of the abbey began the cultivation of the vine in this enclave on the banks of the Duero River. Currently, the winery produces single-estate wines protected by the Abadía Retuerta Protected Designation of Origin, a distinction granted by the European Commission. The catalog includes wines such as Pago Negralada, historical vintages, the Winemaker’s Collection, cases and products of the estate, as well as a special edition in collaboration with Eduardo Chillida. The online shop allows to purchase a selection of exclusive wines.

Gastronomy: Refectorio, Vinoteca and Calicata

The gastronomic proposal is articulated around several spaces. Refectorio is the fine-dining restaurant, distinguished with a Michelin star, a Green Star and two Repsol Soles, and defines its cooking as rooted in the estate. Vinoteca is presented as a contemporary Castilian tavern serving market-led, vegetable-forward cooking. Calicata Terroir Bar is a wine bar located in the winery, open during the summer season, with a casual food offer. The Hospedería offers comfort food and signature cocktails. External visitors can book lunch and dinner in these spaces without staying, while breakfasts, coffees and the rest of services are exclusive to guests.

Wellness & Spa Sanctuary

The Wellness & Spa Sanctuary has been recognized as the Best Luxury Historic Spa in Europe. Its offer includes treatments, wellness rituals, wellness experiences, Wellness Day and the Spa Sommelier concept, which merges well-being and wine culture, as well as a private Spa Suite for couples treatments. The Butlers team can advise and design personalized itineraries and experiences.

The destination organises unique experiences related to wine, sustainability, wellness, gastronomy and art, as well as tailor-made experiences. The Craft, extension in Madrid

The Craft is an Abadía Retuerta space in Madrid, located on Calle Fernando el Santo 20, which completes the group’s offer next to the winery and the hotel. It is presented as a meeting point where art, wine, gastronomy, creativity and ideas converge, and represents the Duero Valley in the capital.

Access and environment

The complex is located in the heart of the Duero Valley, next to Sardón de Duero. It is less than two hours by car from Madrid and about an hour by high-speed train between Madrid and Valladolid. It also offers private transfers from points such as Madrid, Bilbao or Barcelona, and has its own helipad.
