TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes
A contemporary arts center with exhibitions, independent cinema, guided visits, workshops and MiniTEA for families.
About TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes offers a city break that does not depend on sunshine or the swell. It brings together exhibition galleries, a cinema, a library and educational programs in a contemporary building in the historic center, beside the Santos ravine and a short walk from Nuestra Señora de África market. Its program moves between artists from Tenerife and the Canary Islands and projects with an international reach.
MiniTEA is a free creative space where children can approach art through projects; the center also runs workshops, guided visits and public programs. Cinema screenings are concentrated from Friday to Sunday, with original-language films, documentaries and Canarian work rarely shown in commercial theatres. Exhibition admission is free; cinema tickets are charged separately.
The September and October 2026 calendar includes activities, tours and temporary exhibitions; the official page also announces the group exhibition Mientras seamos salvajes from October 3, 2026, through January 2027. Checking the program before visiting helps travelers choose between a short gallery visit, a facilitated activity or a film, rather than assuming every room always presents the same show.
Visible reviews mention the building, spacious library and children’s area. TEA is more than a rainy-day gallery: it offers a cultural counterpoint to the beach and garden, and a way to engage with Tenerife’s visual arts in central Santa Cruz.
