About Restaurant Can Capablanca

A cooperative kitchen with a cultural life

Can Capablanca is both a restaurant and a community-run cultural space in Sabadell. Its worker-owned cooperative is connected to the Casal Independentista i Popular Can Capablanca, and the kitchen follows the same collective spirit: an informal gathering place where food, conversation, and local cultural activity share the room.

The menu changes with the season and moves between Catalan comfort food and more contemporary plates. Homemade patatas bravas, fish fritters, croquettes, hummus, and a vegan fricandó—Catalonia’s slow-cooked mushroom-and-meat dish reimagined without meat—show the range. A regular canya-tapa pairing, a small draft beer with a tapa, keeps the bar’s social side close to the kitchen.
