Science, cooking, and collaboration

The center brings culinary creativity, scientific rigor, and design-thinking tools together in open-innovation projects with defined, measurable goals. Partners include government agencies, farmers, food and pharmaceutical companies, distributors, restaurants, user groups, associations, hospitals, universities, and technology centers.

Its team combines nutritionists, biologists, food scientists, chemists, anthropologists, historians, and food-culture specialists with cooks and culinary experts.

Tools and current projects

The Alícia Index is a core analytical tool used to assess a product or service and identify improvements based on its characteristics, target audience, and context. It helps partners plan innovation and evaluate results.

Recent work includes co-organizing the ninth PReME conference on school cafeterias with the Catalan Public Health Agency and taking part in a culinary-medicine event in Madrid organized by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and CEU San Pablo University. The foundation also runs the 2026 PROFIT Innovation Program for small businesses and professionals in Catalonia's food and agriculture sector.
