About Fundación de Relaciones Laborales de Extremadura (FRLEX)

Labor Relations and Dispute Resolution

Fundación de Relaciones Laborales de Extremadura (FRLEX) was established through a regional process of negotiation and social dialogue. It manages the autonomous labor dispute resolution procedures provided for under ASEC-EX and promotes collective bargaining and dialogue between unions and business organizations.

Services

  • Mediation and arbitration: manages mediation and arbitration in collective disputes. The foundation does not handle individual labor disputes; those are handled by the Mediation, Arbitration, and Conciliation Units (UMAC).
  • Labor Relations Council: a joint forum for dialogue, negotiation, proposals, and ongoing participation by unions and business organizations.
  • Collective bargaining: provides a search tool for collective bargaining agreements and related documents.
  • Standard forms: downloadable PDF and Word documents, including a general mediation request and arbitration agreement.

Institutional Activity

The foundation organizes events, including the National Conference on Out-of-Court Labor Dispute Resolution. In 2025, its board unanimously approved the 2026 Action Plan and announced a conference in October to mark its 25th anniversary. It also maintains a calendar of mediation and conciliation meetings in Badajoz, Mérida, and Cáceres.

Contact

Phone: +34 924 303 532. The website has a contact form; the foundation states that it cannot be used to file a mediation or arbitration request.
